Description: The Templeton Rye Distillery and Visitor Center are open to the public for tours and tastings. Distillery tours provide unique insights into the process of creating The Good Stuff, while the Visitor Center features a museum showcasing the deep ties to the community.

Museum of Danish America

Description: The National Center for the Danish-American Community is located on a 35-acre property in Elk Horn. Both the buildings and the grounds invite visitors to explore the cultural heritage and natural landscape of Iowa’s Danish Villages.

Albert The Bull

Travel Time: 7 minutes

Description: Albert the Bull was built in 1964, when this area was one of the largest cattle producing regions in America. Albert stands at 30 feet tall, and spans nearly 15 feet in length. Albert symbolizes the might and importance that cattle producing played in this region.

Whiterock Conservancy

Whiterock Conservancy & Historic Garst Farmhouse

Travel Time: 27 minutes

Description: Whiterock Conservancy is a gem of history and of nature in Coon Rapids. The historic Garst Farm house at the heart of the property is the site where landowner and seed corn salesman Roswell Garst hosted Soviet leader Nikita Kruschev in September 1959. The surrounding conservancy is a mix of savannas, rolling pastures, native and restored prairies, wetlands, riverside bluffs, fishing ponds and unique geologic and archaeological sites.

Henry Doorly Zoo

Travel Time: 1hr 30 minutes

Description: Located in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska (right on the Iowa-Nebraska border) this zoo and aquarium is considered one of the best in the world and is renowned for it conservation programs. It has a large indoor desert, an enormous Imax theater, and one of the nation's largest cat complexes. Its programming and attractions make the Henry Doorly Zoo a superb family destination.

Description: While we offer hot coffee from our Keurig machine every morning, there are plenty of nearby options for espresso, too. Your best bet in Audubon is The Broadway 312, serving coffee and tea drinks as well as breakfast, lunch, and yummy pastries.
